Broadford sampler

Post by DispatchDragon »

Ive been working on this on and off for a while - Its the little strip at Broadford IOS otherwise known as Ashaig

Someone (simon) I beleive asked for it in conjunction with CBFSVA - I have taken a couple of liberites

Looking at all the photos I have although it says not lit - there are lo intensity rwls visible in many of the photos

secondly I added runway markings (there are none in any of the photos) and I couldnt find a corrugated iron

hangar so I made do

Its all but ready for release (I have to add the various textures and Im done)

I'll put it up at The Pond if anyone feels like doing some Highland and Island work....Now can anyone tell me how

to do a AI ship of the beautiful side paddler that still serves Broadford through the Mull of Intyre?

As Peter Mc says -- thanks for looking

Hi Folks

Leif -
Apologies,
I'd intended to post this previously.

Ashaig -
Slightly overrun,
whilst hosting the Skye Music Festival.

As you can see runway markings are appropriate.
Think it's 06/25 EDIT.
Your trees however are a little on the large side. :)
They're more scrubby bushes.

For the side paddler,
that'll be the Waverly,
the world's last sea-going paddle steamer.
Available at FS-Shipyards -
Paddle Steamer - P/S Waverley (Pilotable) (FS2002/4)
Paddle Steamer - P/S Waverley - Alternative Sound/Smoke set
She can be configured as AI.

Thank you Paul

I will return and wwave my hand over the pines and make them smaller

(I just learned how to make scale work for you in EZ-Builder)

The photos I found showed no markings - so I feel a little vindicated

Not sure when the other photos were taken but they do show a beautiful Sea King parked on larger of the two aprons

Looking at your aerial I also notice the "wee kirk" is actually on the other side of the approach along with

a cemertry

Thanks a million - Its easier to do it here than be inundated with "you got it wrong" emails when published

Leif

By the way does anyone now of an honest to pete Corrugated Blister hangar bmp???

Hi Folks

Leif -
I previously had a detailed doc with pics, and which included maps.

Couldn't find it,
but just found the link.
See - HITrans report

It's an MS Word doc.
Pics confirm rwy has APAPI and edge lighting. :D

Another pic - http://www.alanmoar.flyer.co.uk/Western ... ye/002.htm

PS
In case you weren't aware,
Broadford is now designated XBRO, (at least for AIS purposes).

Runway 06/25? Now there's a novelty - a runway with a bend in the middle! :o :o :o Whatever will they think of next?

Oh yes Pete!...I've landed on one of those...Juba in 1953. Furthermore it was surfaced with crunchy Pebbles! Strangely the bend caused us no problems at all :flying:
