Sorry chaps, there isn't a file named "trafficAircraft.bgl", but there IS one called "trafficAircraft.utb".
See what happens if you change .utb to .bgl, as far as I'm aware utb isn't a valid file extension as far as FS is concerned. Actually after a quick search on the net it doesn't seem to be a valid file extension for anything!

Wouldn't surprise me if the .utb extension is the Ultimate Traffic Backup of the original AI traffic file.

I'm pretty sure you're right there!

The problem is then.... where are the UT traffic files then???

Find them and see if the folder they reside in, is activated.... I'm sure you'll be home-free ;-)

A ha (as in "Eureka", not the rather splendid eighties popular beat combo), now we're getting somewhere...

I now have AI traffic, but nothing parked on the ground at LHR. As I have installed "Mega Airport London Heathrow" by aerosoft, perhaps it's that? There are hundreds of gates, but sadly nothing parked at them!

So, it has to be a conflict between FSX's own AI traffic, the Ultimate Traffic add-on and the Heathrow add-on.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like one of the traffic files is in FS9 format, thus killing off the FSX stuff. As a quick test set your Shipping traffic to 100% and go Belfast harbour... if there are ships there, then the FSX stuff is working, if not, one of the traffic files is FS9. :)

Great suggestion Ben, but I definitely have shipping / cars etc as I have been in and out of Rio and New York and they are all there...

Cars, Animals and boats are different, they don't use traffic files. Also many of the big ports have static ships using the same models. You need to try and find a moving ship, not a boat. ;-)

Ben - interesting. I have five or so container ships at Belfast, but they are stationery. The smaller boats are buzzing about though.

What does that mean?

Ok... thats fine... The reason I suggested Belfast is because there are no statics there, so the container ships you see must be AI, meaning your files must be all in the FSX format.

Could you send me over one of your traffic files that isn't working and I'll have a look into it... ben AT cbfsim.org :)

Ah, ok. That's a very kind offer. How do I identify the relevant traffic files? You're not dealing with a PC whizz here I'm afraid...
