Re: Trident autoland problems
Just a small point which may be irrelevant but an Aircraft update can often "Break" Saved flights that used the older model...You may not be using the Saved flights that came with my tutorial but they could now be broken. I will make sure my Tridents have the latest files and then check the Saved flights today...If they are broken I will see about replacing them :flying:

Re: Trident autoland problems
Yes, I checked all three Saved Flights in the Autoland tutorial and they all landed perfectly at Aerosoft's Heathrow 2008...Thankfully though I didn't get a gate at terminal 5
Shot some movies of a CatIIIb landing and some AES bits...not yet processed though :flying:

Re: Trident autoland problems
Chris, forgot to ask. Are you using it in FSX?
Reason I ask is that I'm trying to solve yet another problem on the VC10 panel in FSX (demo).
I don't appear to have full control of the autopilot in FSX, in particular vertical speed.
I can't test it to know for sure, but seeing what I am seeing with the 10, I'd be amazed if autoland worked in FSX.

Re: Trident autoland problems
Just for the record, I've done sevaral Autocoupeld landings in the VC10 in FSX without any problems.... go figure ;-)
If you're on FSX remember to implement SP1+SP2

Re: Trident autoland problems
Sorry I haven't replied promptly. I'm using FS9 , it doesn't happen every time, and my Active Weather is v6.5 . It's not a saved flights problem associated with an aircraft update, as I always use the previous flight as my startup situation
I have not had it happen with the 1-11 as far as I can remember . I'm going to try and reproduce it and see precisely what happens to , in particular, the elevator trim , as even with the autopilot knocked out , there feels to be so much nose down trim on that there is no elevator authority to retrieve the situation
Funnily enough , I did have a runaway nose down trim happen to me in the real world, at Coventry in the mid 1970s but it was on takeoff and two of us just had sufficient strength to get off and then pull the CBs and manually correct it

Re: Trident autoland problems
Hi Chris..
Could it be using the last 'Saved Flight' as your startup?? I've had odd things happen on certain aircraft (not all) when doing this with ActiveSky and FSMeteo. I found the best solution was to use FSUIPC to 'Clear All Weather' before I hit the save button ;-) It MAY work.. it may not

Re: Trident autoland problems
Well if I was looking to fix this, the first thing I would try is to start FS9 at the default flight...While still in the cockpit of the Cessna I would load the Trident 3. Then I would take it somewhere suitable and Save it...Then I would do an autoland circuit. I know it would work for me

Re: Trident autoland problems
I have to agree Peter that starting any flight with a default aircraft, though a pain in the proverbial is the way I start ALL flights and is probably the reason why I rarely have this sort of problem ;-)

Re: Trident autoland problems
Indeed as I mentioned earlier in the thread.
At last some back up on that
I may not cure all by it won't hurt
