Double Coastlines

Post by stegs »

I know this crops up all the time and apologies for asking again
but I know I'll get an answer here :)
VFR Terrain
Double coastlines are showing in various places
How do I get rid of them?

Not sure if this will help http://www.visualflight.net/vfrterrain/updates.htm

I have the Just Flight Photo Scenery & the Horizen VFR Terrain & use these, but not sure if it solves your issue.

Thanks Bob but nothing seems to fit the bill there.
I thought this was a fairly common problem as I'm sure I've come across
this before but I can't remember the solution.
Up the Humber estuary (as an example) there is a second coastline out
in the estuary.
Anyone had the same problem?

I think it's just to do with what order or priority the various sceneries are in with relation to each other.

It may be that one is too near the top or perhaps the other is not high enough.

They need to be in the right order.

Not something I play with and have got into stress before and ended up dissabling a lot.

Worth a look though.

I don't know if this is the same as I get:

I don't use VFR terrain but I have installed various "coastline improvements" in different parts of the world and in every case I find the "beach" of the original scenery remains in place. I have tried a few things but I get the feeling that it isn't easily solved - maybe a reduction in realism settings could eliminate it but I don't want to do that. I've come to the conclusion that coastline fixes aren't going to be perfect and I've learnt to live with them. I try to think of the extra beaches as sand bars. :o)

If anybody knows a solution, I would be extremely interested too.

Best wishes,

John

Stev... Just to clarify, is it the FS9 Horrizon VFR Terrain? If so do you have all of the VFR photo sceneries to go with it? From memory (and its now been 18 months since I was FS9) If you have both installed there was an update called (something like) Nok coastline fix?

Also, if you don't have the VFR photo sceneries, have you selected the correct options during install? I seem to remember two different options, one for use with default scenery and one for use with the Visual Flight Photo scenery.

It is Horizon VFR Terrain without Photoscenery.
I'll do a reinstall and see if that changes anything
