Nah, that's not fun. Besides, I found a cracking thread over at PPRune that covers the both the Chilean PR.9s and also the covert 39 ops down in Chile...

See what you think. Personally I can't wait till 2012 (wait, assuming the world doesn't end) and they dust off the files for us to see!

Hi steve,

I have read the various threads and alot of it is the usual inter service rivalry. One or two know the truth but we know it is more than our life is worth etc.

As you said 2012 may reveal all, but I doubt it.

Good Lord, was it that bad to discuss it? Well, if that was a flipping thread creep, I will well and truly shut my mouth. :brick: The next time you post pics of a certain aircraft in a certain colour scheme with a certain backstory attached to it, make sure to post a great big disclaimer "please don't discuss." The last time I checked, this was a forum...

As a rule of thumb... thread creap is par for the course, I find the whole Falklands war very interesting. The FSX v FS9 think has been done to death and bores the arse off me though.

Not to pour scorn over this but the FSX vs FS9 thing bores the crap out of me too. I hate FSX with a passion but there you go

'Thread Creep' (there's no a in creep) is a new one on me and sounds like a posh way of saying OFFTOPIC . I'd agree though that much useful stuff comes out of such creeping albeit at the expense (sometimes) of much do-do too

TBH I was trying to work out what thread creep really meant as I couldn't see any real problem here :dunno:

But what would I know

Me too; I had to look up the term as well :) Call it what you want though, I think there is life to this topic outside of the FS9/X saga, so if anyone wants to creep on, then...let's creep on

Very good read there, Techy, cheers for that. That's probably the most detailed account, or speculation, I have yet heard of the Canberra ops down there, and again, hints that there are two versions to this murky story. I've read reports that it was a PR.9 that got a bead on the Belgrano at one point, leading to the events we know so well with HMS Conqueror etc. so it is well possible that at least one of them got further south than Belize. The winking snoopy is a good one too.

29 this year, thank you sir. Mother's Day here in the USA, and my parents anniversary - what an action-packed day!
