Bristol Freighter progress....

Garry is still very busy on this project, he is currently working his way through 30 liveries :o for the old girl. We beta testers have been rumbling slowly around for weeks, she really does have character!

Here she is in roll out livery of the prototype Super freighter.

Ahh the good old Bristol Freighter a rugged heavy duty transport built to operate from unimproved airstrips, I can see her now climbing out of some dusty airstrip somewhere, fully laden, on full throttle.......a lovely plane...excellent work...........cant wait to hear the sound of those venerable old Bristol Hercules engines!

Yep, I've been doing some FSX testing for Garry, and although she isn't an FSX model she works very nicely indeed with good frame rates.

I don't have FS.X but with help and support from Ben and tips and advice from others up to now we have managed to make it FS.X compatable.

Fraser too has made some changes to the panel to get it running as it should

I see no reason now that there will be any problems.

Although not an FS.X model it should look and behave as it does in FS.9

The livery shown here is one of three versions of Silver City unique to G-AMWA.

There were twenty aircraft built plus two Mk.31's converted to Superfreighters

Thats great news.......thanks guys i cant wait for this one, i had an airfix kit of it when i was 8yr old lol........after all these years i will soon get a chance to really fly her instead of running round the room making buzzing noises with my model attatched to my hand ha!...................

Been looking at some of my old mags and it says that the special Mark 32 Superfreighter was built for Silver City Airways and had the nose extended by five feet! This allowed Silver City Airways to offer a cross Channel ferry service carrying 3 cars and 12 passengers or 2 cars and 23 passengers ( in a cabin aft of the hold ) per flight in a 73'4" long fuselage. With a loaded weight of 44 thousand lb, the 230 mph Mark 32 could now fly 1 270 miles at 164 mph with an 8 thousand lb payload. Its service ceiling was 24 500ft. Glad youve modelled this version then.........
