I've got one of these FS manager programs which allows you to disable aircraft in the menu. It's supposed to allow faster loading etc. you know the ones..
Any how I'd forgotten I had this, and after a good hours bimble around the 'lakes' and the Isle of Man, I'll be not be hiding this away again!
