Looks okay-ish. Maybe more screenshots and reviews will make my mind up, though it'll be the FSX model as and when its released.

I take it you mean an Avenger?????

This HU does not explain what it's about........ :dunno:

Just a tiny bit more info would help please

I've not gone to the site to look as it does not interest me and could have been saved the trouble of finding out what it was to see if it did.

Circumnavigating the rights and wrongs of the original heads up, I downloaded the Avenger this morning. As would be expected from the team involved it is an absoolute gem IMHO. Superb model and VC with a sound set to die for. The MAAM team really have produced another masterpiece to sit alongside Briefing Time and their DC 3 variants.

Any chance of some screenshots, Steve ? The ones on the MAAM site aren't that brilliant.

BTW I have their C-47/DC-3 package and agree with you entirely; a masterpiece. :)

Paul
Take a look at the page linked below. There is a fair selection of screenshots there. They give a very good idea of the quality of the avenger.

Here are some details...I'm downloading it now:-

DESCRIPTION: MAAM-SIM Grumman/Eastern Aircraft TBF/TBM Avenger for FS2004. Add-on aircraft and scenery package for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004-Century of Flight. NOTE: This version is not tested with or sold for use in Flight Simulator X. (Later, folks!) INCLUDED AIRCRAFT: There are five distinctly different aircraft models, in sixteen different liveries, from three nations. The different models vary in engine, flight dynamics, physical features, armament, instrument panels, virtual cockpits, etc. "Extreme Photo-Realism", digital photographic textures used in every gauge, panel, interior and exterior texture, is a technique we pioneered in FS with the release of the B-25J 'Briefing Time' at MAAM's 12th Annual World War II Weekend. It requires literally thousands of photographs, so it really helps to own the aircraft! You will see this technique refined even further in our depiction of MAAM's TBM-3 #4 "Old Tanker 9" Other Avengers in the package feature a combination of photo-real and "hand-drawn" textures by some of the best graphic artists in the FS business. Digital stereo sounds were recorded from MAAM's TBM, in flight and on the ground. This edition includes all of these 16 Avenger aircraft: TBM-3 #4 "Old Tanker 9" - Mid-Atlantic Air Museum TBM-1 First production model in early paint scheme. TBM-1 of VGS-26, USS Charger (CVE-30) TBM-1 of VT-8, USS Hornet (CV-8) - sole surviving TBF at the Battle of Midway TBF-1C of VC-58, USS Block Island (CVE-21) TBF-1C of VT-83, USS Essex (CV-9) TBF-1C of VT-10, USS Enterprise (CV-9) TBF-1C of VT-7, USS Hancock CV-19) TBF-1C of VC-51, USS San Jacinto (CVL-30) George H.W. Bush, pilot TBF-1C of VC-13, USS Core (CVE-13) TBF-1C of VC-71, USS Manila Bay (CVE-61) TBF-1C of #30 Sqdn, RNZAF "Plonky", Piva, Bougainville TBF-1C of #30 Sqdn, RNZAF NZ2525, Piva, Bougainville Tarpon/Avenger I of #852 Sqdn, RN FAA, HMS Trumpeter Tarpon/Avenger II of #853 Sqdn, RN FAA, HMS Queen TBM-3 of VT-17, USS Hornet (CV-12) THIS DOWNLOAD, UNLIKE OUR PREVIOUS ONES, CONTAINS ALL THE FEATURES INCLUDED ON THE CD-ROM VERSION! You also get: The G-max designed Aircraft Carrier scenery, USS Langley, (CVL-27), a small carrier of the "Independence" class. This ship was the wartime base of the plane depicted by MAAM's TBM-3. By the kind permission of the authors, the Langley comes equipped with the Carrier Operations Package by Rob Barendregt and Doug Dawson and the FSUIPC.dll needed to run it. These programs are already fully installed and configured for all the Avengers in this package as well as the ship. NOTE: There are three installation options that will accommodate buyers who already have these third-party programs installed in FS9. We won't mess up your system! Several Start-Up flights - "cold and dark" start-ups on land and aboard ship - ready to takeoff - final approach to KRDG and the Langley - on the catapult, and more. Five Avenger FS9 Splash Screens you can install if you choose (not auto-installed against your wishes). You also get a profusely illustrated and extremely detailed Avenger Software User's Manual in html format. You can read and refer to this on your browser, even alongside your FS session, if you wish. NOTE: A PDF format version of the User's Manual, suitable for printing, will soon be available on our FREE STUFF pages: http://www.maam.org/flightsim/enhance/tbm_enhance.htm Finally, you will get a PDF version of the 78-page PILOT'S HANDBOOK OF FLIGHT OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS NAVY MODEL TBM-3 AVENGER III AIRPLANES, AAF Manual No.50-11, dated 1 July 1944 and revised 1 November 1944, in Adobe PDF form. This is a high quality scan, in color for colored pages, of the original manual from MAAM's library. If you still aren't sold, you can learn all about the features and operations of this precedent setting product by downloading a free copy of the User's Manual from the FREE STUFF page at the MAAM-SIM site: http://www.maam.org/flightsim/enhance/tbm_enhance.htm (available after June 10, 2008) Once you have looked over the manual, we're confident you will buy. Besides, we are all volunteers, so all of the money goes to MAAM's restoration projects, such as the P-61 Black Widow Recovery and Restoration Project. Here's a way for you to help in this historic effort and fly one of the finest aircraft models available anywhere for MS Flight Simulator, at a very reasonable price! In fact, you are stealing it - you should definitely add a donation to the P-61 fund while you are here! RECEIVING YOUR DOWNLOAD After your purchase is approved, you will receive an e-mail with your private download URL and your key. This usually happens immediately, but please allow up to one hour for receipt of this mail. (SEE IMPORTANT NOTE BELOW) If your e-mail has not arrived within an hour, before contacting MAAM, check your e-mail client's anti-spam or deleted folders to be sure it has not been diverted from your in-box. The mail will be from [email protected] and will contain your order number. If you still have not received your DL e-mail after an hour, contact [email protected] for an URL. IMPORTANT NOTE: Sadly, some ISPs, including Comcast, have marked us as spammers for sending "unsolicited e-mails". In our case, these are only the automated responses from the X-cart store software that confirm your registration, order, etc. This includes the message containing your download key, too! Because of this, we have opened another account with verizon (which has not been blocked) and use it to send keys when we get a bounced message alert. You can speed the whole process if you have, and register on the MAAM store, using an alternate e-mail address, such as a hotmail, for instance. You can still download using any account you wish. It's only the incoming mails from us that are blocked, not your use of the URL to our secure download server. This will make life easier for you and us! While you're at it, if you are a "Comcaster", complain to them. We have, but they think we have an axe to grind and are just lying spammers! :-( After you receive your download, please make a copy of your aircraft installer in case of future computer failure or replacement.
INSTALLING YOUR DOWNLOADED AIRCRAFT Unzip the archive and read the "read1st.txt". Click on the self-installer and follow the on-screen directions.
