Hello Nigel,
I had just posted a reply to Dave when your post came through, thats it, done, thank you very much you must be a Avionic Ace, I would never have sorted that problem, I will read through the Manal again I may have missed something any way thanks very much.
I have had a similar problem on Dave Maltby`s Comet 4 panel is there some thing similar, it was only in the latest update that i down loaded recently, the previuos downloads have not shown the problem, obviously there is a switch somewere that needs to be operated.
My thanks to Dave for his patience and to all who sent me possible answers, this Forum is marvelous, its certainly taught this old dog a few tricks and Dave incase this old dog forgets I will print out all the answers from this forum and file them for future reference.
Again my thanks to everyone....... Stan

Hello Dave,
I owe you an apology, you told me the answer to the problem at the beginning I was looking at some thing else, it was only when Nigel mentioned the OAT guage that i realised what you were indicating, I put you to alot of trouble, please forgive this old heavy, it reminds me of when my avionic mates used to say to me `If you had paid more attention when you were at school you could have been avionics `
Thank you for all your help and patience........Stan

Hi Stan
Pleased to hear that all is now functioning properly.
I am not an avionics expert by any means, just another flight sim enthusiast. This subject had been covered here some time ago and that is how I found out how to use the SFS correctly, you will find that it also works the same in other a/c that have it fitted.
Regards
Nigel.

Re: ILS Display
Hi Stan - very similar switch for the Comet. Here is an extract from DM's manual:sammach wrote:I have had a similar problem on Dave Maltby`s Comet 4 panel is there some thing similar,

ILS Indicator
Note that this indicator only displays information from the opposite NAV radio to the one selected on the SFS Radio selector (centre panel).

Hi Stan..
No need for an apology. ;-) These things happen from time to time and on the odd occassion.. there is no rational reason for it.

Re: ILS Display
The idea with the flight system is that the ILS is ideally set on both radios , unless a VOR bearing is required at a late stage. The SFS selector has two switches, the top one selects whichever radio the switch is set at to the beam compass and director horizon, and consequently the flight directors within these instruments. The opposite radio is then displayed on the deviation indicator, which is fine if both radios are set on the ILS. The input magnetic indicator should show ILS when the facility is tuned and received. The FS Argosy system is a bit out of date now, the Vanguard/Viscount V5 being the current benchmark. BTW the bottom switch selects either NAV or GPS signals to the autopilot in FS only, in reality it was for command to captain or co-pilot ;-)
