1st post here!
Dear british friends,
My name is Diego S. Barreto, from the CalClassic team. This is my first post in the british forum, i am an old visitor since 2002-2003 when i started flying Rick Pipers' Viscounts and Vanguards. Being a propliner lover i also love british aircraft. Our ''flag'' airline, PLUNA operated Vickers Viscount since the late fifties to the mid 80's here in Uruguay.
Here's a video i found in youtube a couple of days ago, it's an old Bristol 170 Freighter (wich i am also waiting to fly here!) running it's engines that have been stopped for more than 20 years!, it's good to see this old bristol hercules cranking again! this team is doing a great job on this aircraft. Enjoy!

Absolutly. Great bit of film. The old bird was more reluctant to start that the first engine on NX611, having viewed that video.Garry Russell wrote:...Thanks for the link...Garry
I have a question for those that know about such things.
The Merlin exhausts into visable exhaust stubs at each side of the engine, where by the Hercules seems to vent it exhaust straight backwards rear of the 'gill flaps' as I call them. Does this type of engine not have an exhaust system then - it just dumping the waste gasses out the back
Any knowledge gratefully received.
Oh, and yes, welcome Diego
Bob

Hi Bob
The exhaust are in pairs at seven points around the engine
There were no gill flaps on those Hercules the cooling was done by a large fan behind the spinner whch exhauted at the back of the cowling. The fan has been removed in this case.

Welcome to CBFS, FSXDiego! I really enjoyed the video.
I hope Garry's model starts a little easier than the one in the video.

Congrats to those guys. Took a while for her to start firing on all cylinders and then the sound started cutting out at very bad times to get a great sound experience, but it was cool to see the "3-view" format.
As for the heater, I'll love to see it just as long as it doesn't ACT like the real ones. Heater fires are something I can live without in FS. The CV240-27 Janitrol installation is in the former radar bay under the fuse and it does BAD things when it catches.
