Viscount 800

Post by Nigel H-J »

Question regarding the Viscount 800.

Have just downloaded it from Classic British Files and there are two panels for the 800.

First is:- FS2004 Vickers Viscount 802/806 panel,Version 4.0. This Panel is specific to BEA/BA/BAF Viscount 802/806X aircraft with Dart 510 engines.

Second is:- FS2004 Vickers Viscount 810 panel,Version 4.0. This Panel is for the ultimate Viscount 810 series aircraft with Dart 525/530 engines.

Both panels are extremely good and having had the Viscount some time ago I remember that used both of these panels for the 800. As stated, that was some time ago and my poor brain has now forgotton how I had two Viscount 800s' with two different panels that you could select from the a/c list in FS9!! :brick:

Equally, cannot remember if there were two downloads of the 800 series, one for the 802/806 with Dart 510 Engines and one for the 525/530 and you selected the panels for each one.

Any help in resolving this would be much appreciated.

Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nigel

You need to have seperate folders..three really........800, 802/6 and 810

Each of these with just those models, panel and paints in with the appropriate CFG...you can alias the sounds or have them in each.

They will all appear together in the chooser or you can make them seperate if you wish

That is controlled by the UI_type lines in the CFG.

Hi Garry

Now I am going to really show myself up here!! When you said "You need to have seperate folders..three really........800, 802/6 and 810" I take it then that I just use the one Viscount 800 that I downloaded, and after extracting prior to placing into FS9 re-name the folder to say 802/6 then repeat the process each time to make the three variants?

Yes Nigel

There is only one model for the 800

So in effect you have three folders each with it's own set of paints, CFG and panel. As I recall there are changes in the CFG for performance so check and see in the VA section if there are seperate CFG for those there....Fraser and DB will sort you out if you get stuck HELP .

Can't tell you excactly what as I don't have the Viscount loaded atm :$

The sound and model are the same in each.
