You guy's you!

In payment for this 'gem'.. I expect to see the virtual skies FULL of Rick's Meteors

Btw FSX'ers.. the Meatbox is a great candidate for taking a mate for a run around your favourite hunting ground. I took Trev as a passenger around 'The Loop' many moons ago and I think he even enjoyed it  :worried: ;-)

Garry..
You posted as I hit the submit button. Yes.. they ARE meatier than the usual.. especially if you're used to hearing the Lear45 :worried: In reality, I think they're probably a tad too meaty for the Meteor but are close enough to be viable ;-)

Just had a look at the download file and the sound is aliased to the Lear :o Can't recall ever using the Lear so I'll have a look at mine and upload it for you if it's different :)

That's because you don't have the default Lear loaded. FS always defaults to the Cessna in this situation ;-)

I appreciate all things being equal and such but the Alphasim Meteor was built in 2002, that makes it 'six' years old, so I expect 'others' to be better than it to be honest :).

Hi Michael..

I honestly have no idea which model has been released as freeware. The model I had/bought came from FS2002 and the sounds for it were great. You are aware that the later mod was not part of the upgrade path so I'm guessing that wasn't part of the 'freebie' either :dunno: Has Phil released the soundfiles as well?? The 'thrust' of the topic 're Meteor' was Rick's model which is aliased to the Lear so I suggested the file that I use and have always used for that model ;-)

Well, I dont know about upgrades, as far as I know there was only one Meteor and that was mine, which was built for CFS2 and onwards, it was even modified for CFS3 as well. There was an older Meteor I think by Colin Norwood or Chris Lampard but that was CFS1 era and built with AF99 but I cant accurately remember that far back and the floppy discs holding the models are long since confined to the bin :).

I dont know what was uploaded and given away as free, I thought it was the same as I had ?, and should have included the F3 and F8, having said that the F-84 that was given as free was a very old model with tanks and incorrect nose gear steering, tankless variants and steering was corrected years ago so I've no idea what copy went out free ?.

Fully appreciate the 'thrust' is Ricks Meteor but the first post said it was better than Alphasims, its not the first post I've seen to say that, I simply replied that it should be, its a good few years younger, ergo its a pointless comparison IMHO, its like comparing FSx DC3 with the FS98 one.

Best

Michael
