Another question on the Viscount A/C

Post by Nigel H-J »

Have always enjoyed flying Ricks' Viscount as with all the other a/c here however, just wondering as I have tried myself but to no avail, is there a way when landing the Viscount to get the sound of the wheels making contact with the ground?

When flying other a/c you do hear when the wheels touch the tarmac and although this is only a minor point, it would be great to be able to reproduce this on the Viscount.

I had some touch down wav files that I added to the sound folder and also added lines into the sound cfg file but to no avail.

Any advice from the experts would be greatfully received, that is if Rick has no objections. :prayer:

Regards
Nigel.

Just a long shot.......

Look in the sound cfg of one that does it and see if you can add that line and the sound to the Viscount sound cfg.....backing the original first of course.

No idea really but that's where I would start  :dunno:

PS it helps if you have the undercarriage down

Hi Garry

The sound file is located within the a/c Folder and just has the lines refering to the engine sounds, at work presently so cannot be more concise unfortunately. Had tried adding the necessary lines but did not appear to work.

Not being a techie at this just wonder if I have missed something out or indeed, if there is another entry elsewhere that requires adding.

Found it!!!! The older I get the worse it becomes!! :brick:

Good old Frazer, got the sound file for the Viscount via Flightsim. That has the touchdown effect as well as superb sound of the engines. It was there all this time and I forgot!!! :doho:
