Who wanted a grey hawk?

Post by Quixoticish »

Still a work in progress, I can't find any shots showing top and bottom detail so I'm guessing. I think the roundels are too big and I need to check if they carried the serial under the wing. If anyone has any good shots or decal printouts of grey Hawks please post them here. :dancer:

Nothing but a bit of patience from me; thanks has to go to Rick for putting together a superb paint-kit that is a lot of fun to use.

It twas I!! :prayer:

Now this just looks great!!! I love the Grey, the Red and white and the Cammo, but that one looks the doggies mate. Even DB like it... on a Hawk! lol
Very much looking forward to this one. It almost like like it should have "Royal Navy" stamped on its rear end.

I was going to do some FRADU Hawks along with the more obscure ones like the Centre for Aviation Medicine and also the JFACTSU-thingy ones as soon as I get the chance. Unfortunately they are all black but it's something for the RN-fans to fly.

I've also started a Finnish Midnight Hawks display team repaint, I know it's not technically the same Hawk but it's a nice grey scheme that really suits the aircraft.

If only the FRADU Hawks wore the old Grey scheme... much nicer looking than the black.

I may yet do some hypothetical repaints. I think I still have some artwork that I scratch drew for by European Space Agency EFA/EAP that we did at IRIS many moons ago and I was going to apply that and see what the Hawk looked like in white/blue, so I can certainly play around with some Royal Navy liveries. Perhaps some completely fictional wraparound grey ones and also some Canberra liveries applied to it if I can spend the time getting the black/yellow striping done correctly.

I know they are frowned upon on CBFSim but I usually do them for my own pleasure and if people are interested and Rick doesn't mind I'll certainly release them.

Anyway, take two of the 100 Squadron grey Hawk, I've sorted out the fin flash, resized the text, re-sized the roundels, corrected the shades of grey and tidied up the weathering. (The grey ones always seem to be filthy).
