Damn those pictures are enough to make a guy homesick!!

Grew up just south of Camborne not far from your Portreath shots, and boy its there a great Pasty shop there!!! (miss those too!)

You did well to get such good weather! However it sounds like you were not there around Culdrose airday yesterday..... a day that is always...ALWAYS guaranteed to be a wash out!!

Great stuff.

Fraser.

Hi Fraser,

Yes I was unable to get the week off during Culdrose so we visited the week before and am I glad we did. The weather was lovely all week. I was gutted about missing the airday but from what I can gather it would appear it was a rained off anyway. :-(

I tried out a few pasty shops down there too.

Met the Sherrif once - seriously - several years ago now.

About the only thing the place has going for it is Shipstones. :drinkers:

The Shipstones brewery shut down in 1991!

The Home Brewey followed in 1996, Mansfield in 2001 and then Hardys & Hansons in 2006.

Don't bother coming here for a beer!!!

Oh aquatic beastie, what sad tidings you bring re Shipstones, :-( :'( but I did say it was several years ago.

I was on record at the time, as saying it was the finest bitter I had ever tasted.
