Find the Virtual Sailor hillarious,

Some interesting replies, I guess trainsim is more of an anorak thing then flightsim (and before you ask I DONT spend my time standing on stations to count numbers  )

To be honest I mainly like rail simulators cause I have an interest in how these things work, and it makes a slight break from flightsim once in a while, but in the end, no matter what games I play, fs always seems to make its way back onto the computer.

I've tried Ship Simulator too, but once the first days novelty wore off, it became boring, fast. It has now ended up in the pile of rejected games in it corner, gathering dust.

For those in the Colonies, the nearest translation for "anorak" I can think of is "nerd" just thought I would clarify that. ;-)

When I was a wee lad, I do admit to spending some time on station platforms with a trainspotter logbook. Fortunatly that phase of my "life" only lasted about half a summer holidays.

That's how long I managed to live with it too mate.. a whole day. It needs more.. say.. being attacked by E Boats while crossing the Solent or say.. being straffed by enemy fighters while you man the AA guns. It has a little more going for it than VirtualSailor but overall.. poor to very poor :)

Right.. back to trains

Nooooooooooooooo! Image

I spend my whole day working trains and, believe me, everything to do with railways is totally boring. Even the drivers agree. There must be something better to do than watch virtual signals coming at you every mile and a quarter. Having an afternoon nap sounds more exciting .......

So what's the nerdiest/geekiest simulator ever? How about 'Staple simulator' for the I-phone!

Unless of course... you know better!

Thanks for the link to the 5619. I must say I thought the track looked a bit dodgy entering the main line, but that may have been just the camera angle. Wasn't it fun being on a bridge when a steam train passed underneath?

Cheers Nigel ;-)

When you've lived by a steam line, best make the most of it...

This was taken a couple of years ago..in the colder months, more steam..and I don't care what anyone else says

I must confess to owning MSTS, but only so I could buy the Severn Valley Railway payware add-on. Its my top preserved railway :)

Surprised no ones posted about MS Train Sim 2
http://www.tsinsider.com
Expected ~Nov 2009.

Technology based/derived from FSX,
and has some additional features that should make it into FS Next.
