It's a pity there isn't one of those 'ship' thingies for aircraft. My 15-year-old flew out of LHR this afternoon bound for SEA and it would have been nice to track her flight. However, technology DID come into play a little bit. We knew her flight out was a 777 (BA0053).. the good lady sent me a text with the aircraft reg (G-YMMD).. I kept a watch online at BA Departures to see if she was on time (and she was shock horror.. 1743BST) so I zapped on the old scanners and at 1816BST, I heard Speedbird53 logging in at FL190, radar hdg 330deg asking for FL380!! Anorak stowed until the return flight! I gather she sent a text a while later to say she was over Iceland

I'm a bit worried that the FastCat from Portsmouth which is currently at 25.7kts has an ETA of Jan 21/0900 but hey.. it kept me occupied for a few minutes. Like it ;-)

Dave heres the one I use for work, gives us advanced warning of when vessels are due, once pilot is picked up from the sunk we have 40mins to finish crane repairs and evacuate in case the ship knocks them over....and yes they do as we recently saw earlier this year

On trinity you'll see a vessel called Tsing Ma Bridge, serviced by cranes 18,19,20 and later tonight 17....when i give it back to them .

Hardly surprising really as the English Channel is one of the busiest waterways in the world

it's interesting to see just what's lurking around our coastline........

Just a long-term heads up.

One of my ongoing projects,
is to replace FSX default vessel traffic
with as real as IRL vessel traffic.

Hope to release individual re-composited traffic files
to enable individual route vessel traffic upgrades
with relevant model substitution.

As part of this,
I've very kindly been supplied
with a 3 month, 10 minute interval, UK vessel traffic snapshot,
(UK key areas covered).

It's initial beta release is probably ~6 months off.
Would appreciate any vessel models to enhance realism.

Might be able to knock up some container and RoRo vessels for you, what sort of poly level are you looking for ?.

The diversion from aircraft might be a nice little holiday .

then as low as reasonably practicable, please.
Default models are approx sub 1k polys, (complexity dependent).
