Re: New camera...
It's a real beauty Jonesey...BTW I had an opportunity to buy a D Type that I raced against several times in Kenya...I could just afford the asking price of £2000, but getting it back from Kenya I was going to have to risk indulging it back on an aircraft carrier from Mombassa...Any trouble on the way back and it would have to go over the side!...One of those things you look back on and wonder if you made the wrong decision to say no

Re: New camera...
Thanks for the info, Peter.
I should have added that the photos are excellent. I really like the 'depth of field' effect in the close up of the Bentley.
Thanks again.

Re: New camera...
Thanks Kevin...I think anything good about those shots is more by good luck than judgement...The lighting was poor as it was a bit gloomy outside and I just went ahead without my monopod due to the awkwardness of the car's location...Poor planning really but I'm pleased you liked the shot. I have not dared to open the bonnet of the Bentley yet as it involves undoing two real leather but very thin straps...When I summon up the courage, I will take a few shots of the engine :roll:Kevin Farnell wrote:Thanks for the info, Peter.

Re: New camera...
Whatever you're doing, Peter - keep doing it! That shot of the cabin of the Merc is exquisite. The dials are in sharp focus, with the surroundings slowly fading out of focus. The lighting is also perfect.petermcleland wrote: Thanks Kevin...I think anything good about those shots is more by good luck than judgement...

I can understand your dilemma about the engine. Going by the quality of the model, the engine must look wonderful. But those straps do look a little fragile.
All in your own time, Peter.
Thanks again for the photos.

Kevin
