Belfast G-BEPS
The Belfast, G-BEPS, at Southend is being scrapped
It was being made airworthy but that stalled back in April
Latest reports indicate that scrapping has started :-(

Such a shame. Rest in Pieces.. :-(
I suffer from paranoid amnesia. I can't remember who I don't trust.Re: Belfast G-BEPS
With the loss in recent years of one Vulcan, [Blackpool], (with a second seemingly going the same way, [Woodford]), a Herald & a Belfast, I don't think the term 'preserved' holds any guarantees that any airframe is safe, even at a museum.Garry Russell wrote: There is one preserved...

I thought the Woodford Vulcan (XM603?) had been scrapped already. They used to say it was kept in airworthy condition!delticbob wrote: With the loss in recent years of one Vulcan, [Blackpool], (with a second seemingly going the same way, [Woodford]), a Herald & a Belfast, I don't think the term 'preserved' holds any guarantees that any airframe is safe, even at a museum.
Shame all these nice old things are being cut up.

Looks like component recovery is underway & then the airframe wingspars with be subject to destructive testing to see how they have stood up to several years outdoor storage, to give an idea of the life expectancy of the spars on XH558.
Looks like either late this month or next month that airframe will ne consigned to history.

Re: Belfast G-BEPS
Perhaps the spares from BEPS will go to keep the Aussie one airworthy for longer.
