With te One-Elevns hush kits the noise footpribnt was reduced so they could not be a nuicsance further away
But since the noice was still above what the ear could cope wuth they were no quiter close by.
I've heard take offs by these 727 and the early ones and I've not noticed the difference.
Perhaps with bigger airports and far away runways but not anywhere I've been

"a noise that you dont need ears to hear"
TBH.. I couldn't tell the difference between 1-11's with or without or even 732's with stage 2 but as Garry said.. it's all to do with the sound footprint I suppose. Though they'd still rattle your windows and make the TV inaudible.. it probably happened for a shorter period!
Tks for that Richard ;-)

Most of the noise on the flight deck of a threeholer is from the windscreens, at .82 the 727 was appallingly loud up front
I once jumpseated with a Delta crew who said they had measured the noise at the glare shield at 119Pndb. All JT8s are
loud even our MD80s which are stage 3 hushed make more racket than CFMs and V2500s . The 727 in the old days
didnt have the "crackle" of a Spey But still made on hell of a racket.

Unless things have changed, SNAS is DHL's Saudi/Middle East contractor. Air Tahoma picked up HZ-SN14, their last CV-580 in 2004. The 727s were supposed to be the replacements for the 580s.

Godzilla Richard :o How those TP's don't break loose of the wings I'll never know
Always admired the re-engineering but never liked how they look.

Are those DC3 turbo-prop acft pressurised or do the crew use oxygen masks?
Anyone know what IAS and height they cruise at?
As far as I know even DC3 Airways has now Baler conversions to turboprops - in fact I do not know of any FS9 or FSX DC3 conversions.

Hi Hobby
They're not prerssurised and I doubt if they could be made airtight and withstand pressure.
