I did read about a Vulcan that the crew went in the morining and found all it's RAF roundels etc replaced by Stars and Bars but never seen any proof
I think that was Nellis.

A Vulcan was adorned with markings of the 2nd Bomb Wing including SAC Sash and Stars during a Giant Voice exercise at Barksdale AFB many years ago. I've not seen the photo evidence, but reportedly a B-52 at the same time gained badges and RAF roundels to make it look like the Vulcan's original markings. Guess you could say it was an early case of an "exchange program" for the crews and planes.
