FSX KJFK RWY31L problem?

Post by DanKH »

Hi

Just wanted to know if any of you other FSX-guys, had experienced the same problem as me?

I have now tried 10 times to try to take off from KFJK RWY31L with the same result every time: FSX freezes about halfway down the RWY (at the intersection with RWY22).

With and without FLYNet client, with and without default KJFK/ 3.rd party AFCAD, with and without UTX USA....

So my final conclusion is that there is a bug in FSX related to KJFK (possible only RWY 31?? :dunno: ) as I have been able to take off from the other RWY's without problems....

Case solved!

Thanks anywat John!

Apparently not a scenery nor FLYNet client problem but, lo and behold: a problem with the gau that DM uses for extra sounds like: V1, Rotate etc.

DM uses the old dsd_xml_sound3.gau which apparently has some compatibility problems in FSX.

A quick search gave be the clue to find a new gauge made for the "Groundhandling panel" freely available at the usual places.

In here is a new gauge called: RCB_Groundhandling5_Sound.dll, use this instead of the old one and include a few tweaks here and there in the panel.cfg and there you go!

Suddenly I realized that I always ended up around the intersection with RWY22 when I was at V1

Anyway case closed and solved, and I might finally get the change to get away from KJFK ;-)

Actually I found this

http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Sea ... CatID=root

which is Doug's lates version of his file which should work in FSX. I will try this too.

Nice to see that the problem is NOT with DM's VC10 but with FSX.. as if we didn't know that already

Well that wasn't a success! The Groundhandling dll though seems to do the job, so I'll stick to that one.
