I seem to have bought something!

Post by John »

It's not often that a man in a shop gives good advice and then sells you something lower down the price band, but that's what a bloke at the Sussex Model Centre did today. I went in for a ducted fan hawk and came out with a T28 Trojan. Odd? No not really, it's just with my limited experience with R/C it'll be a far safer bet!

So here's what I got...

My first flight is tomorrow

ha ha! As I'll probably wipe out the undercarriage on the first 'landing' that's not a bad idea!

Thanks guys

Funny that, I've just spent the afternoon putting my Parkzone Spitfire together. It's the first time I've touched it since I got it as a christmas present last Dec (maybe something to do with a 4 month stint in Afghan). However, after watching a few vids of crashes on youtube, I'm a bit dubious about taking her up for her first flight. :flying:

Sussex Models have done you a big favour there!

Better learning the easy way than the hard. I fly R/C, and have been doing for longer than I'd like to think about :o , I see the latest trends arriving at the local R/C club field and they seem to be getting more 'scale' http://alshobbies.com/shop/lookupstock. ... 7535&Desc=

However you need to have some experience to fly them, and if your thinking of scale, start with what you would think you could fly in full size, something like a Cub, then move on to the F-15 http://alshobbies.com/shop/lookupstock. ... 4922&Desc= 8)

To find your local club, visit the British Model flying Association, http://www.bmfa.org/

Ooh, nice P-38 :)

Fancy one of these though: http://alshobbies.com/shop/lookupstock. ... 4942&Desc= :flying:

Do you think that would be OK for a newbie

Hi John,

I can see you want a Hawk!

Ok to feed your enthusiaum http://www.airworld.online.de/Englisch/Index.htm

A very good example, and well out of my price range! However, I've got this http://www.belairdigital.co.uk/Productdetail.asp?Id=275 as my on going project.

Going back to the Hawk, I'm impressed with the atention to detail, for example, the undercarriage, which I know a bit about, is very close to the real, Image

Remember, the sky above you is useless, it's the sky below that matters!
