Seeing the QM2 sinking there, for a moment I was scanning the horizon for HMAS Melbourne!
Must admit too, the Queen Mary still looks good, albeit for a flatscreen TV in the bar underneath the bridge showing "American" Football constantly...

Brian,
Used to enjoy virtual sailor a long time ago for just messing about. Is there anymore to it than just 'messing about'? Is there a multiplayer option for racing? Are there 'missions' to do?
Cheers

Hi Tom..
From what I could tell from the brief spell I had with an earlier version.. MP was pretty much what the game was all about. The version I had didn't have any of the Queens though.. only Titanic and the small stuff. Spent half an hour trying to get Titanic to go and didn't manage it so gave up

I had a similar experience, had a go with the cannon sub thing but that didn't last long.
What about Virtual Skipper 5? The Americas Cup game? Any experience of that?

Hi Tom..
No, sorry mate. I think the version I had was 3.. didn't realise it had got so high! :o Think I had it for a couple of days and sent it down to Bridon Bear
The graphics were good but god.. was it boring or what  I can imagine MP would have injected rather more excitement but my attention span failed well before that

Re: Virtual Sailor: Racing Queens
Hi Tom. Virtual Sailor is still pretty much as Dave described it. It hasn't really changed that much over the years, functionality wise, but the boats and ships have improved greatly. The Queen Mary is a new model which was originally designed for the subsim Silent Hunter III. I received permission from the author to convert (and release) the ship for use in Virtual Sailor.
Here are a few screenies of some of the nicer vessels available nowadays.
Beautifully detailed interior of a U-Boat.

.
A Clyde Puffer. One of my favorite ships in Virtual Sailor.

.
The captain of the Adriaen van der Donck. I think he's dancing "the robot".
