Hi Chris..

Yes.. I agree that it seems a right pig's ear!! 220 had the mod fitted.. most of that film shows 219 which didn't.

If i am remembering correctly wasn't the undercarriage modified with the struts but due to the cancellation of the program the mod was never flown.

An incredible aircraft such a shame it got cancelled by a short sighted government.

It's taken me ages as I have the main gear shot myself but can't find it so.. I dug up the same one Tony has posted :lol: It doesn't show it in great detail Chris but you can see the additional strut to the rear of the main leg ;-)

Thats correct chaps. 220 had the mod fitted and was due to commence testing with it the afternoon of the cancelation. 219 was in the hanger having the mod fitted when the cancelation came. from memory, the mod was more along the lines of ensuring the boggies where in the correct position for landing, which also added some torsional stiffness. There is a school of thought that says production variants may have ended up with gear not dissimilar to the Jag.
