I was wondering about that one too. I've also seen a video clip, possibly of those trials, where they let a bit too much water in to the Wokka. as they lift off several tons flow out the back with all kind of pitch based shenanigans taking place. Must be a corrosion nightmare..my bro was on 7sqn when they did the RAF trials for spec ops recovery,

Very nice shots. I'm sure they have been collected from all over the net, as I've seen some of them elsewhere. The F-15E in the Mach Loop is on Airliners.net.

If I remember correctly there was also a detailed explanation of the aerodynamics that were being made visible in it at Pprune. Apparently one of the McDonnell Douglas guys who'd worked on the Eagle had seen it and several years of theory were made clear in a split second!The F-15E in the Mach Loop is on Airliners.net.

Yep, I've always liked that Mud Hen picture.
I just wish they'd let a B-1B go down the loop. Unfortunately, it'd probably break every window in a 5 mile radius doing it, so I doubt it'll ever happen.
