A life on the ocean wave......

Post by forthbridge »

Toodling along, minding your own business..... perhaps a pace of the poop deck for a puff on the pipe? A tot of rum before bed-time....

Until.... you look in your rear view mirror and see this behind you..... :o :o :o :o :o

That's a nice find Jim. Just imagine how much better it'd look with Ark Royal IV in front though

Show the size of those US carriers

The middle one is almost the same size yet it is a fair distance back.

Wouldn't want to slam the barkes on too sharp

Yeah.... just a pity there's no Sea Harriers on deck. If CVF comes to fruition I wonder who we'll flog the Invincible class to?

I just couldn't resist, here's a couple of shots of the "real" Ark Royal, the second one I've posted before when we
were laid up in Norfolk VA, shows you just how skillful our pilots were finding the "postage stamp" compared to the
flight deck of the US Carrier....Enjoy

Amazing stuff - thanks for them! :flying:

Chris - it's agricultural (IE GR) Harriers on Deck in the first pic, not the slightly more sophisticated naval variant.... ;-)

As we are on a RN role here, of course there is always what's been called "The Toughest sport in the world"

Field Gun
Of course I had to post when the FAA won this one...........loyalty of course. My last two years in the RN was
at Lee on Solent where the FAA FG team was based. My hats off to all of them.
