Re: You won't believe this!...
The Israeli F-15 had the advantage that the fuselage provides up to 50% of the lift, I don't think the fuselage profile on most aerobatics actually contributes anything.
I was wondering about the hovering thing too, but it would be very hard to land like that even if you had full control. I think the Convair Pogo managed at best a couple of vertical landings because it was so difficult.

I guess you'd have to let the tail contact the ground as gently as possible then kill the power and hope for the best. At least by that point you wouldn't have too far to fall and the speed would be virtually nil. You'd just have to try and make sure the aircraft fell wheels down as you'd get a bit of a headache the other way up! :doho:I was wondering about the hovering thing too, but it would be very hard to land like that even if you had full control. I would thing with a prop the aircraft would attempt to spin arround the prop becoming very unstable.
I can't see that it would be possible in reality

Hi HC
I was thinking of that one earlier but I didn't know the outcome
I've seen it often but don't know the details

He clipped a light pole while doing an aerobatic routine at Twin Ring Motegi in 1993.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Cracking ad campaign though, it's obviously doing its job if it's doing the rounds on the internet.
