I am glad he won because it was one in the eye for all those who were making rascist taunts at him earlier in the year. Up theres!

Heh by now he's probably unconscious in some bar after having consumed copious amounts of alcohol :D

I still cannot believe he has actually done it, hopefully the FIA have now passed the car as legal and I can breath easily!

Well done kiddo, as someone who subscribed to autosport in the 80s and 90s, I have been aware of Lewis for about 11 years! I think this afternoon has given me even more grey hairs though! :-(

Now I await another close race with the same trepedation.....the US elections!!

It was the first F1 race I'd ever watched with interest, and even I was feeling the pressure in the final few laps!

Well.. there IS that James but I don't think it was necessary to highlight it do our wider audience  As it happens, his mother is white so he's neither one nor t'other.. not that it matters ;-) You might have said that he's the youngest ever F1 World Champion

Question for all the F1 boffins here..
Who will occupy the first garage next season?? Will it be McLaren as Lewis is World Champion or will it still be Ferrari as they won the Constructors Championsip?? My better half asked me this about an hour ago and I didn't have a definate answer :o :$

Garage order in the pit lane is usually based on standings in the previous year's Constructor's Championship IIRC with the winner getting the pit closest to the exit of pit lane. That's why McLaren had the first pit this year (i.e. closest to the entrance) as they were 'robbed' of all their points last year.

Based on the above that would put Ferrari in the one closest to the exit again with the rest lining up as follows:
McLaren
BMW Sauber
Renault
Toyota
Toro Rosso
Red Bull
Williams
Honda

I am not sure how they will sort out the remainder as they didn't score any constructor points this year so they may draw lots or something to decide those places.

I'd presumed that to be the case but wasn't sure ;-)

I was out yesterday but recorded the race, had to avoid TV and radio like the plague so I didn't find out the results.

Got back home at 22.15 then sat down and watched it but being a recording the tension got to me so found the fast forward button!! :$

OMG!! the last two laps found my finger on the stop button!! Did I really want to know the result after all? :worried:

What a finish!! Well done Lewis, you deserve the Championship. :welldone: :dancer:

BTW, does anyone know what caused Timo Glocks' slowdown that let Hamilton through?

Regards
Nigel.

Yes.. nailbiting is an understatement

Dunno about Glock other than the rain got worse and he was on slicks. His lap times up to the final lap seemed ok but there's only so much you can do in the rain on those things!! Looking forward to big, fat slicks again next year
