Hi folks, I am getting "QUITE" good at putting FS9 aircraft into FS X. But when I try to use direct X 10 All my FS 9 Textures dissappear.
I am not aware of any VC8s or 9s where they used slate as the primary building material, So I was rather hoping that someone might know of a way around this?
No textures with Direct X 10

Re: No textures with Direct X 10
Hi Tim
I've never used DX10 so I'm shooting in the dark a little here. Is it only the Viscounts and Vanguards you're seeing slate grey?? DX10 probably needs the textures to be in .dds format rather than DXT3/32-bit bmps.

As Dave says the early stuff is not compatable or so it seems
Is there much advantage in using DX 10??

You do get better looking clouds and water but there are a few bugs.
Nav lights are only visible from certain angles and some runway markings look a bit dodgy.

I know someone else who lost a load of texture in DX 10
Seems a bit pointless.....nice clouds, shame about the grey aeroplane

Wasn't DX10 in FSX only 'Demo mode' what ever that might be?? Whatever it is, it suggests it's not the full ticket doesn't it

I get the impression it is something in waiting and is not fully supported yet but obviously needs to be out there when the stuff that needs it gets out.
The coice seems to be run it and be retricted to certain full FS.X natives or leave it out and have a wider choice.
