Or if you have FSX Delux, use the effects editor tool that comes with it.... but it is a mine field. FS9 smoke effects dont work properly in FSX and the dispersal effects are as you've said. Best bet is to find another aircraft who's effects you think are suitable and substitute its smoke effect. ;-)

Hello all and thank you so much for what has to be one of the best, fastest and most informative replies I've ever had on a forum! :prayer:

Fiddling with files is sadly something I've not got a lot of time for so thanks for the crash course Tako but I've opted for the easy way out :$

I'm sure most of you will have the UKMIL Nimrod MR2 so my DM VC10 now has the following SMOKESYSTEM section which is pretty much bang on for what I was looking for. :drinkers:

[SMOKESYSTEM]
Smoke.0=-53.00, -9.60, 1.50, fx_nimrod_smoke
Smoke.1=-53.00, -15.10, 1.50, fx_nimrod_smoke
Smoke.2=-53.00, 9.60, 1.50, fx_nimrod_smoke
Smoke.3=-53.00, 15.10, 1.50, fx_nimrod_smoke

Hope neither party minds this - if they do, please let me know (I've posted the same over at UKMIL) and I'll edit this accordingly.

ATB.

Dave
