Chaps...I just saw it on PRuNe and thought that people here would like to see it...I don't actually have it or any others like it. Lovely though, isn't it? I have a shortcut to it on my desktop so that I can watch it easily when I like

I'll need to have a look for that DVD :flying:
It's quite amazing the battering those aircraft take when they slam onto the deck - wonder what the descent rate is on some of them?

Y e s... didn't notice it was temp out of stock! :doho:
Had a look on Amazon and they have one copy (in the U.S.) for £59.27 plus p+p (not in these trousers) and the original company to market it.. ddhe.co.uk seem to have disappeared  No sign of it on the BBC (who originally screened it) but there are copies to be had if you look hard enough. Unfortunately, you'll have to look harder than me!!
EDIT.. After an exaustive search, I've found a copy on ebay for £25 (current bid). Look for item.. 250321237726
How bizzare!

Well yes.. had he not made it that time, he'd have had to fly back. Running out of fuel is always a good incentive to focus the mind ;-)

I could smell the burning kerosene fumes, feel the windblown grit on my face and the heave of the deck under my feet again.
This is my first post here and a visit to my profile and then web site will inform as to why.
Re: Ark Royal Traps...
Hi All,
I've not posted for a while, but I've heard a third hand story about the last Bucc having problems with the deck landing. The Bucc pilots were RAF, not Navy. On the other aircraft, they had a Navy pilot in the back offering advice, whereas the last guy didn't have a Navy backseater - perhaps because the backseater was videoing the event.
Anyway, the RAF pilots had been briefed to give the Bucc a "blip" of power when near the deck to compensate for the curlover effect. However, as there was very little wind (relatively speaking) the Navy backseaters advised their pilots that the increase in power wouldn't be necessary. Obviously, the last guy didn't have the benefit of that information.
That's what I heard anyway
Cheers,
--Graeme

"fish out of water"? .......so to speak" ..... ;-) (..or a bird of another feather..)
makes his attemps (attempt), to land his aircraft on a 600 foot moving landing strip "ett", all the more exceptional
