Today is the anniversary of the very last arrested landing made on an RN ship, at the end of HMS Ark Royals final commission. The last aircraft to recover was a Gannet AEW.3 of 849B flight, piloted by Lt. Hugh Slade.

30 years...wow that long huh....mind you my profile photo was taken on the Ark in Gibraltar on its last commission...so looking in the mirror I can believe its 30 years now as there are not so many of those blonde locks left!!.....damn plug hole, always taking them from me! :roll:

Been to Gib so many times, I stopped counting. Can't say it was ever my favourite place on earth (though the jail isn't bad)
