Heads down, chaps! The Yellowstone supervolcano is about to blow! It'll play merry hell with house prices! Me? - I'm off to start a new life in Zimbabwe
..with any luck the super-explosion from the super-eruption will hit the approaching super-asteroid, thereby knocking it off course and preventing it from hitting the Earth, where the impact would have caused a super-explosion.

IIRC if that caldera goes, it was considered to have very serious consequences because of the amount of debris that would be blown into the atmosphere.
If it is as bad as the the worst case scenario, you'll hear it Leif :-(
I only live about 70 miles from the caldera as the crow flies and believe me, none of us are losing any sleep over this. A few years ago, there was a lot of talk of Yellowstone blowing because of some lifting in the north part of the park, but the geologists admitted that they didn't know what was normal, they were just getting better technology to measure such things so they were becoming more aware of them. If it does blow, I'll make sure and get some video of it and post it on Youtube so you can all see it. |-)
Some time ago I read about a possibility of a huge volcanic eruption there that is estimated to take a large chunk out of that area......As for any earthquakes, experienced one whilst on duty 5.4 magnitude but the whole building shook and I was on the top floor!! :o ........ believe me....not exactly a nice experience!! So feel for those in any area at risk.
