My Viscount goes grey and black when its dark

Hi I seem to have a problem with the texture on my FSDS Viscount 800, when it gets dark the viscount goes grey then eventualy goes black when its really dark, i think this may be my fault, i deleted most of the viscount liveries, as i only really wanted the viscount in the liveries that i used to see at southampton, which was British air ferries and guernsey, i didn notice there was G-APIM for british air ferries but it wasnt the livery i remember, so i think i mudt have got some different liveries from someone else and added them to the viscount, it seems to work ok during daylight, its just when it goes dark is when it goes black, ok i know i could just fly in the day!
Anyone have any suggestions how to make it visible in the dark?

Hi Jay..

This should only happen with the 700srs as the model was never night mapped as far as I remember. Never seen it happen in the 800's. What sim are you using??

Im using FS2004, it happens on my british air ferries (with the big british livery) my guernsey airlines livery and also the BAF/Guernsey livery when they merged, its definatley the srs 800 that i have

Just checked both of those textures and I definately don't go grey to black on either. Noticed that I don't have lit windows on GUE and noted the textures (as in the number of) are not the same. GUE/BAF has L textures for night but none for the wings.. GUE has LM textures for night and DOES have night wing textures. Odd :think: Regardless.. they both display ok.. the only thing being no windows lit. Did you pull the textures off Allnodes/Avsim??

Jay.. a quick edit. Having looked at the textures in DXTbmp, the windows ARE lit on the GUE paint.. just that they're not as bright as they are on GUE/BAF ;-)

very odd indeed, it must be something i have done wrong when i downloaded it or added it to my fs, although if it works ok during the day i must have downloaded it ok, i think i did download it of Avsim but i cant remember, its been a while since i've had it.
Thanks for your help, I'll just do daytime flights in the Viscount from now on, although i could still do night flight, after all its the cockpit veiw thats most important and that still works fine

Try downloading them again off Allnodes. They're not very big paints and should only take a sec or so. Alternatively, I'm happy to upload them here for you

Thanks, what is the link for Allnodes? It doesnt appear to find anything to do with FS when i type it in Google
also can i just download the liveries i want or does it come in a pack with all the liveries?
