Re: Sea Fury is Coming Home...
Nearly time to put this project to bed so I can get on with my next one:
1957 RNFAA / RNVR Complete AI package covering all the RNAS bases covered by FS9 such as Eglinton and Culdrose plus most of the add on fields which have been created.
Each station will have a representative station flight plus resident squadrons.
Also represented will be RNAS Stretton and perhaps even Donibristle which will act as AI pumps having large numbers of planes in their Maintenance Units (MU's), Aircraft Repair Sections (ARS), Engine Repair Sections (ERS), Mobile Aircraft Repair Units (MARU), Aircraft Maintenance Yards (AMY's), Receipt and Despatch Units (RDU's), Ferry Flights and Maintenance Test Pilots (MTPS), storage of reserve aircraft, as well as their own RN and RNVR squadrons, including Landing Signal Training Squadron using Airfield Dummy Deck Landings (ADDLS). RNAS Stretton for example was a massive base with 28 large hangars and more than 30 in total; 1000 ratings and 120 Officers and a similar number of PO.
I've had a version of Stretton on my hdd for more than 2 years, I think its time to get it finished:
My package will also be a celebration of the RNVR and the many brave men who gave their lives while serving the country in peacetime. They will not be forgotton.

Re: Sea Fury is Coming Home...
Now its time to show off the lovely new near-photographic quality cockpit bitmap for the new Update...
It was done by a chap called Lobo da Silva - thanks go out to him!
More than 2,500 downloads of V1.2 in 10 days can't be bad, thanks for the support guys!

Re: Sea Fury is Coming Home...
Somebody from the forum requested a Lights panel. I've added one but I'm not sure if it'll make it into the final 'mix'. Probably easier just to add the switches to the panel bitmap...
I'd like to know the split between those who like lots of functions on seperate panels and those who prefer a more integrated approach with most of the clickable hardware on the Cockpit panel. Feel free to PM or add your comments.

Re: Sea Fury is Coming Home...
I've also included a Catapult Panel to facilitate external Catapult launches:

Re: Sea Fury is Coming Home...
Air file:
Thanks to two members of the forum improvements have been made which effect the landing ability of the plane.
The original airfile was done by Jerry Beckwith, and anyone who knows anything about FS planes knows Jerry Beckwith is a god of FDE.
However the original plane was modelled in FS8.
In FS9 on landing it tends to bounce even more and even higher than the real thing!
Also when a perfect landing was done the plane seemed to stop even more quickly than was expected.
Thanks to Hobby for making the bounce more realistic and Paul Kyte for noticing the short stopping distance of a perfect landing.
