I have found that the best times are not noticed in the present but through memories of the past, when you think back to certain aspects or times in your life such as Ben wrote ' in the early days of C.B.F.S.' when no doubt membership was small and personal there would have been a certain 'family element' about that which sadly may not exist today as it did yesterday.
Often memories of such 'wonderful times' can trigger sadness knowing that it will never be repeated in the way that you experienced it........having said that, the 'present' in years to come for many, will be remembered as that 'wonderful time'. :-(

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.

Wow, a lot of food for thought here. Thanks for some very inspiring posts - if I ever eat dog food for breakfast by mistake, I will know the solution!

I read Ben's post and inparticular Ian's (Speedbird 591) response. They both typify the depth of feeling and maturity of members of this forum.I don't claim to be as experienced or as knowledgable as as many of you,but I would like to bet that despite the ACES situation, this is not the end of FS nor the end of this website.
Ben,when you recover from your melancholy and you fancy a good meal and a couple of jars of 'lemonade' you know where we live.
