CNN strikes again!
Im sitting here watching the news on COA3407 which crashed on the approach to Buffalo this evening.
CNN's reporting is abysmal - SOme reporter at Buffalo airport asked a young man who was waiting for his sister
to arrive on that flight "how do you feel".
Got to love insensitvity of the Press
My heart to goes out to all concerned - but specifically the dispatcher on duty at Colgan last night

Yeah I know what you mean. I cringed when I heard that one.
The one I liked though was "We're hearing reports that there was communication between the pilot and Air Traffic Control"
No, surely not! Why would they want to do that? :brick: :brick: :brick:

one unbelievable sad account , one woman who was on the plane was going to a
family gathering to remember the birthday of her husband who had died in on 911 in tower two.

Re: CNN strikes again!
Having been the guy on duty when a plane goes down, I can only echo Leif's comments. It's not just bad for those whom survive the crash or are the relatives of those who didn't, but the guy who is back at the office following that flight and gets the dreaded call from ATC wondering if they've heard from a crew or even worse notifying them of the aircraft's demise.
My heart goes out to all of those who are being affected by this because it's going to be a hard dime for some time to come as the investigation progresses.

Leif, the pathetic quality of reporting isn't limited to CNN.On BBC Radio 4's news programme this morning(the 13th)the presenter was asking the most inane questions of the onsite journalist in Buffalo. It was quite obvious that there was time to fill and not enough facts to fill it with. The tragedy must have been terrifying for those on board.EricT
Now at the age where I know I like girls but can't remember why!

Very sad indeed and condolonces to all involved. This morning the telly she showed a time lapse weather radar from where the incident occured. It appears that a large area of freezing precipitation was present around Buffalo. Other pilots in the area reported icing problems. Still too early to make conclusions of course, but may have strong suspicions.
