Concorde Special

Post by AlexP »

I remember watching this excellent programme when it originally aired, why don’t the BBC seem to produce anything like this any more? Anyway, enjoy!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZzMlL88Ytg Part 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnEsMwB8aOw Part 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-2C_swUl_U Part 3

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNua67QG_xA Part 4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjcBMY-kaGs Part 5

Can anyone tell me what the music at the start is?

Not sure, but it sounds like something by The Alan Parsons Project.

Cheers Jim  I have none of the attributes shown by the (once) erstwhile 'Darling'.. (there's that name again) of televisual producers throughout the land but I'd certainly wear his clobber for the same pay

Seen that interview before Joe but nice to see it again

What a wonderful video. :welldone: Thanks very much Alex for posting the links. It's a crying shame that BA pulled her from service. Oh well, business is business. :-(

Hey - good find - I actually discovered this on an old video tape about two weeks ago. I've been finishing converting videos to DVDs so I can sling the video player. I found this, and one episode the beeb did on British Airways. It was called 'Airline' and was a 3-part documentary on BBC 2, the first following the job of Pilots. They followed the flight of a 742 from Heathrow to Sydney, vie Bangkok. The subsequent episodes were to do with the running of the airline and the managerial side (how Lord King was Thatchers favourite business man - that sort of stuff).

Keith - yep you're spot on, its Sirius by the Alan Parsons Project.

I've also got a copy of the video BA put together for the retirement party they hosted in he hangars at LHR when the last flights landed - you may all have that, or have seen it, but if not then let me know and I'll get it onto the web for you.

Cheers

Rich

Hmm.. I wonder if our lot on the Vanguard at Brooklands have seen it. I'm pretty certain at least 3 of 'em were there (BA Engineering)

Brilliant Alex, very many thanks as missed the original documentary when it was shown. Now I can catch up on it albeit a number of years late!! :dancer:
