70's Air to Air Accident...?

Just finished reading XM607 (again) Black Buck raid and in the book it stated an accident that happened in the 70's between a Buccaneer and a Victor Tanker...?

Only the co-pilot survived from the Victor after the Bucc sliced into its Tailplane.....anyone know anything of this..?

I know of this....
i lived at Marham when it happened.
well my dad knows more as he was based there!!

he seems to think it might have been a MK1 victor, basically it was a fairly novice buck pilot refueling, the drogue struck part of the Bucc, the Bucc pilot turned away, but instead of away from the victor, he turned across it.
knocking off the tail plane, sending the victor in to a spin, which there was tragically only one survivor. it happened after Nov 1973 as thats when we arrived there.

And yup...it was a Victor K1A....and an S2 Bucc....cannot find what happened to the Buccaneer crew though...?

Victor K1A. XH618 of 57 Sqdn. Lost in mid-air collision over the sea near Sunderland.

The Buccaneer was XV156. 208 Sqdn RAF Honington. It survived the collision, and carried on flying until early 1980.
