Your personal ale?

Based on recent activity/job/previous job etc etc... what would be the named ale best suited to you?

I'd say today, for me, it would be 'Piddle in the wind'...... ;-)

Many Years ago, well 15 or so, while visiting my brother in Luton - He took us to a pub in Hertford called "The Wicked Lady"
there they had a rather interesting brew whose name for reason's that will become obvious escapes me (I believe it was called "Old Rodger" -- Anyway after imbibing about eight or nine pints of this very pleasent Ale , I stood by an old gent obviously a local worthy , he looked at me and said "What you drinking there?" -- Old Rodger I said - He sort of grins and says
"how many of those have you had?" Eight or Nine, "Oh Aye" he says - I could never manage more than six pints of that
without getting flat on my ass" - I thought he was joking until closing time when we left - apparently my brother had to rescue me from the middle of a large ploughed field across the road where I had gone to fine comfort for the night!!!!

Nice one Leif! There are a few aptly named ales around - Orkney Skullsplitter being one which does :o

Another is Adnams 'Tally Ho' - in fact even the brewer states it has a kick 'like a draymans horse' ;-)

The Captain of the Titanic was born in Stoke-on-Trent and a local microbrewery decided to name one of their brews 'Titanic Ale' with an add campaign that read "Come in and sink a Titanic today!"

I remember Old Roger from a beer festival. We found it just by searching for the strongest ale available. :drinkers:

Specific gravity of 1080 if memory serves, which it probably doesn't after drinking that stuff. I'm amazed you made it through that much of the stuff. You've definitely got a stronger stomach than me.

Whilst I was a student I once made a barrel of home brew named Old Scrotum for a party. CHEERS

Tanglefoot Easy to drink but packs a punch, you can get nicely wrecked on it when the mood suits. Not a session ale though!
