They are both supposed to be at Farnborough 1964 - and look at the previous one in Pete's collection - a not dissimilar view with the Lightning's in the background.

Hi Ian, Yes, I hadn't spotted that. I wonder was the door painted during the course of the week? Unless there were two which wore that scheme, but I was pretty sure it was just SGA...

Just checked silent Swift Superb and it seems SGA had the door painted Grey at some stage. It was orange originally from June '64.

I wondered if the visual anomaly on teh VC10's tail was something as simple as the angle that the light was catching it at? It looks like hes got a bit of left rudder on and that would turn the leading edge more towards the camera. If it was particularly catching the light then might that not account for it? :think:
