Britannia "XM497"

Post by Chris558 »

It was never an RAF Brit, and with XM496 already in this scheme, I would have prefered a re-paint of the former BOAC scheme, but the colours look good.....

Very nice, shame they couldn't have made the paint scheme accurate for the aircraft though :)

Nice enough shot but nothing extraordinary :dunno:

Given the Brit was going nowhere other than to scrap, I suppose the only thing that could be done was paint it in RAF colours. Wish EP was that clean :-(

Does nowt for me that scheme I'm afraid. Preferred her in her BOAC scheme.

Last saw it in Jan 2006

Last time I went to Cosford (about 10 months ago), she was being repainted. There were, literally, people standing on her with paintbrushes in their hands.

Sorry

I think its a shame - making her look to be something she wasnt!

I much preferred her when she looked like this

Luton in the late 70s - I think - Keith James was delivering back to OM

I'm trying to remember whose photo it is - Ive used it as my desktop for a long time - I flew probably about 300-350 hours on Victor Fox - she was a nice beasty - light weight and fast plus the pressurization worked great on it.

Is it me, or is that 'Royal Air Force Transport Command' legend above the windows a tad on the large size?
