UK2000 Belfast Xtreme released

Post by DaveB »

Hi Guy's..

As the title suggests, Gary Summons has released Belfast Xtreme for FS9 and FSX and it compares favourably with other airports in the Xtreme series ;-) Details at www.uk2000scenery.com :)

A word for those who usually buy from Simmarket.. I found the scenery there first and converted the default 'Euros' to GBP and it's on sale for £16.66. Checked over at UK2000 and it's only £13.50 :o No prizes for guessing where I bought it from ;-)

Honourary perhaps  Had a good look over it and I have to say it's probably the best thus far.. plenty of detail yet still excellent on frames. There is an issue with the mesh I'm using (FSGenesis) at one corner of the airfield (down near the RAF bit) though to be honest.. I'm not sure if FSG covers Ireland  The oddities aren't visible on the ground, only above it. :dunno: Anyway.. nice to see what Belfast-Aldergrove really looks like at last ;-)

I've just followed some AI in to Belfast and watch an RAF Herc departing for Lyneham...I must say the whole airport and its vehicular traffic is a fabulous work of art...Wonderful frame rates and such outstanding value for money :flying:

Thanks for the HU Dave, this is going to be a great favourite :)

You're welcome Peter. ;-) It really is a very good piece of scenery isn't it

Wonder what he's got waiting in the wings

Lovely shots Peter  I just had a hover around there changing the time of day and the night lighting is particularly impressive. I love the Welcome To Belfast sign.. it looks real! Smashing airport all round.. particularly with the military side adding interest ;-) Shame they have a Trident near the fire dump :-(

Btw.. I removed FSGenesis and the previously mentioned issues have gone :cpu:

Dave I was beta testing this and I had the same issues with FSSE Global mesh, also the loch is raised , disable the mesh and its fine, just an odd quirk I think as its definately not the scenery, Gary has once again done a superb job :)

Thanks for that Tony. FSSE Global is one mesh I've not tried and was considering giving it a go.. not now  Quite a few of Gary's airports 'tare'.. Luton, Emids, Old Warden.. Ooo.. the list goes on the more I think about it and to varying degrees with either FSGenesis or VFRTerrain. The only surefire way to get em all stable is to NOT use addon mesh and for the most part.. this isn't too much of a problem. If you want to fly the 'loop', the default mesh is so far off it's laughable but as I don't do that very often.. I think I'll leave it as default for now.

Tks again for the HU on FSSE Global ;-)
