Re: Flight tutorials - Vanguard and/or Viscount
Thanks for the replacement CAB file, but it hasn't solved the problem. None of the MIs on that fuel panel will work, and the start sequence doesn't work as per the manual. I have found that if I select the Start Fuel switch to OFF once the engine has started spinning up, even if the Igniter light has gone out, the engine will light up. I've tried switching to a default MSFS aircraft (the DC3 in this case) and then switching back to the Vanguard but no joy....I've got a work-around that will get me going, so I'm OK at present.

Hi Ian..
Did you actually start flightsim with a default aircraft?? I note you mention changing to a DC3 and back but by this time.. any damage would've already been done. Try 'starting' with a default aircraft and then going to the Merchantman/Vangaurd. Don't start with (eg PMDG 757) then go to a default then the Vanguard ;-)
Incidentally.. what OS are you running.. not that this should make any difference.

OK, I'll give that a go - I did wonder if that might be a better bet. OS is Vista Home-64.

Hi Guys
Sounds a bit like something I had going on last year, but buggered if I can remember how it got sorted...

Created the flight with a default 737, got the power on, then switched to the Vanguard. The Start MIs (and the rest on the fuel panel) all work now, but the start still won't function as documented... :doho:

Re: Flight tutorials - Vanguard and/or Viscount
Hi Ian
Rgr that ;-) As previously mentioned, ALL of my saved flights are saved with a default A/C.. in my case, the Cessna so wherever I want to fly from be it Stansted, LHR, EDI or any one of a number of locations.. I select that flight and it opens with me in the shoddy (but useful) Cessna. I then select whichever aircraft it is I want to fly and off I jolly well go
As for the start routine not working.. I've scratched my head over this and I can't see any good reason why it's not happening for you. This said.. Garry has mentioned a possible hitch with 64-bit OS's (Ben is on Vista MEGAGIGAYOUCAN'TBENDIT 64) so perhaps it has some relevance. Fingers crossed Fraser drops in here soon ;-) I'll keep mulling it over but frankly, I'm at a loss at the mo

Dave,
No problems. I've got a workaround that will get me going for now, so that'll do. No great rush, but if a definitive answer does come up I'll give it a try. In the meantime I'll gtet a few miles done! :flying:

No, it wasn't a 64 thing, something in the back of my head tells me that I wasn't reading the instructions properly. I'm in work at the moment otherwise I'd have checked. I will do if... when I get home

Ben.
