Can't imagine that they'll just be able to pop into the KLM hangar for this one!

What's the problem?
They used to fly back from Holland with only three working engines on a regular basis didn't they?

Here's the news via Altavista's 'babelfish'. An engine "made of England"??

Don't you love auto translation?
Perhaps mindful should we discuss listings of topical forums such as like?

Re: BBMF Lanc Engine Change
Yeh.. I wondered about that too Thanks for the link Brian
Larry.. I think it's probably written into their SOP that if they have an engine out, they stay put. I agree they used to fly back with 3.. 2.. maybe only 1 during the dark days of WWII but with nowhere to land in Europe, they'd little option but to make it back home. With it being one of only 2 airworthy examples.. it's better to air on the side of caution these days ;-)

If they need a spare Merlin I'm sure the Dutch can dig one up from somewhere.
Meddle first, understand later.

Re: BBMF Lanc Engine Change
Apparently the BBMF have something like 13 Merlins spare so it's not a problem!
