Boscombe's VC10

Post by Chris558 »

She is very much intact AND engines were running when I paid a visit on Tuesday. She has been moved on to the apron, after having been tucked away behind a building. Presumably undergoing some sort of engine fatigue testing..?

You can just make out the heat haze across that building behind the engines. You'll also have noticed the two Andovers and two One-Elevens. Andover XS606, directly behind the 10, shot a few circuits from a return flight, climbing out towards me, runway 05, enabling me to hear those Darts/props at full bore... :tunes:

Ah, Apaches....they might be the dogs doo-dahs, but they are ugly buggers!! I did see one of the MI-8's fly. Interesting sight 'n' sound.

Regardless of how they look.. they have a unique sound which, all things considered.. is a good reason to 'look up' ;-)
