The 208 Squadron, afternoon six ship formation...

Post by petermcleland »

This starts up at 1500 hours each afternoon Monday to Saturday. A different six aircraft each day...They go off together to Anglesey:-

Image
Here the six are crossing Snowdonia.

Image
Crossing the Menai Straits, they split into two threes...

Image
One makes its way to MONA...

Image
...and the other to VALLEY.

Image
Valley is a bit short for touch and goes for a Hunter, as you can see from this one lifting off from the piano keys...

Image
...and climbing away.

Image
Mona is also a bit short and also one hopes...

Image
...that those sheep stay the right side of that fence!

Image
Once again, the piano keys is where they leave the ground on a T&G. They do two or three each and then swap and do another two or three at the other airfield.

Image
They return as a six again to Stradishall and these remaining shots are my...

Image
...attempts to capture some...

Image
...interesting shots of them all...

Image
...as I juggle the code to...

Image
...optimise things.

Image
Naturally, all these shots are taken with...

Image
...TrafficTools > Explorer using special techniques.

Thanks for looking :flying:

Jim and Graham,

Thanks for the comments...I finished the hard part today, the coding for a week of squadron operation. Just the final checking to do and then I can get back to building Stradishall.

Of course, I really enjoy the testing...I can leave it running while I plonk in new buildings and trees and cars in the car park etc etc. If I want to really concentrate then I can build on a Sunday (their day off).

Peter,

Am I right in assuming that these tools are in FSX ? :000:

Degsy,

TrafficTools is available for FSX but I seem to remember that it was a bit "Broken"...I was not able to use it in full screen mode as I do in FS9. As for Ttools, well I never tried it in FSX and moved in Traffic Files from FS9, but there are complications with that. My scenery and traffic packages are exclusively for FS9.1 :)

As I test the finalised code for 208 Squadron's 12 Hunters at RAF Stradishall, I am getting some nice images of the "Six Ship" afternoon sorties.

Here is one that I took today:-

I particularly enjoyed this one as the two Threes make a "Crossover Turn".
