It'd be criminal not to! I can hardly wait!
There's a paint kit included so with a bit of TLC it would be easy to knock up some really impressive textures with custom weathering, new rivets and suchlike. Knock up some custom specular and bump maps and it would certainly begin to really shine.
Dito! If this could also be uploaded for others to use we'd soon have a gem on our hands.

Good to see some more sensible pricing from Alphasim.

Shame they've never heard of Anti-Aliasing, or maybe they're Anti Anti-Aliasing?! :lol:

.... OR, are these previously FS2004 repaints that have been added to the FSX model???

If so, we can go get all these now...

OK, I may be talking to myself here... is everyone at the beach?! :lol:

I just wanted to confirm, for those who haven't already tried it, that Henry William et al's repaints for the Alphasim Canberra for FS2004 also work in the FSX model:

Image

Some of Henry's texture folders even come with a thumbnail, which is a bonus!

The main thing you need to do is copy one of the texture.cfg files from an original Alphasim texture folder and paste it into the addon texture folders. That way the bump and spec maps are loaded.

For completeness I also edited the aircraft.cfg entries so they are consistent, from this..

ui_manufacturer=ALPHA
ui_type=English Electric Canberra B.2

... to this...

ui_manufacturer=English Electric
ui_type=Canberra B.2

Enjoy! :dancer:
