As long as it means that when they are up and running again they recognise the kind support they have recieved and perhaps in future they will not be as rude and bigheaded as some of their key staff have been in the past......... ;-)

Glad to see that Avsim appear to be on the way back. I had, until they went down, been mainly using that and the pond in preference to no nodes.

If and when I get chance to re-install flightsim (at the moment a slim chance) it'll be one of the first sites visited.

Wonder how much was backed up?, missed some of the previous posts on this so Im a little bit out of the loop on this, but did they lose everything, or were some aircraft/scenery etc backed up on other servers. A site like that you would think would have two seperate server locations, with one just purely backup.

I think there back ups were all in one place......it appears they lost everything.

Maybe so is recoverable but it was effectively killed..possibly an inside job

I think they backed the library up to the forum server and the forums to the library server  - not very smart. They appear to have recovered a lot of the forums but not the library as of yet.

Would that be avsim, Garry or - hopefully both? :)

Just steer clear of the frozen peas, well for a couple of days a week.

Hi Guys

Just popped over to Avsim to see if there was any more news on the File Library

Well.......there is and still not back yet but they are working on it long and hard :cpu:

Here is the update on their front page

Library Update and News

We are much further behind schedule in getting the file library up and running again than we had anticipated. As you may know from reading the forums, we had to do a considerable amount of manual confirmation of file integrity. What we did not anticipate were non-library related issues, such as the loss of all net connectivity by one of our key team members for a week. All in all, with almost two months from the hack of the AVSIM system, we are as frustrated as you that the library is not back in operation. Be assured however that it will be. We continue to work the issues and please know that we want it back online as bad, if not worse, than you do. We will post as much as we can as soon as we can as our progress allows. Thank you for your patience and continued support. The file library will be back!
